Let’s discuss the most recent traditional practice of north Americans – Black Friday and Cyber Monday. In the simplest of terms, Black Friday is an annual shopping event. After celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday, the Friday after calls for shopping. The event often lasts until the Monday after. The event marks the beginning of the holiday shopping season that remains through the end of the year. Cyber Monday, on the other hand, is the Monday after Black Friday. It is celebrated as the day of online shopping across the USA and nearby countries. Why is it called Black Friday? Back in the 1950s-60s, the Philadelphia police began using the term “Black Friday” referring to the day between Thanksgiving and Army-Navy game. A larger number of people were noticed shopping in the city on this day and the cops were bound to work long and late working hours to handle the crowd
